Pastoral Staff
Stephen Woody – Pastor
God has richly blessed me to come to New England to serve here at First Baptist Church of Yarmouth! I am originally from the mountains of NC, but my family and I are thrilled to make Maine our new home. I have been married to Melissa for more than 15 years, and we have three children, Levi, Jacob, and Emmie. I am a committed follower of Jesus, growing in his grace daily and little by little seeking to fulfill his calling on my life to be like him. I am thankful for the vibrant spiritual community at FBC and excited to be part of what God is doing to advance his name in Yarmouth. I believe the key to healthy spirituality is a vital connection to Jesus and a passion for his priorities, highlighted particularly in the Sermon on the Mount. It is my prayer that God would use me to further the work here, that his “kingdom would come, his will would be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
My family and I enjoy outdoor activities, and are excited to explore Maine’s diverse and beautiful landscape. When I find the time I also enjoy fly fishing, golfing, and woodworking. I have a wide variety of interests and believe that God has a way of breaking through into every aspect of life. He is the giver of all good gifts and his hand is behind all truth, beauty, and goodness.
Michael Shorey – Youth Pastor

Mike has a Bachelor's Degree from New England Bible College and is currently the Youth Director at First Baptist. He is a graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, with a Masters in Religion. Mike also coordinates the biannual mission trips to Nicaragua and facilitates new membership.
Elders
Nathan Oschner – Elder
Nathan has a passion for discipleship and enjoys helping people understand God’s word in a way that can be effectively applied to their lives. He surrendered his life to Christ at a young age but his college years proved to be highly transformational when the Holy Spirit ignited a passion for the depths of the realities of his relationship with God.
He is married to his college sweetheart, Bridgitte. They have two sons, Theodore and Montgomery. They live in North Yarmouth where Nathan helps run a greenhouse operation. Nathan grew up in South Portland and graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Landscape Horticulture.
Along with his service in the church, he helps his brother run a non-profit called Living to L.A.S.T. It’s an acronym for their four values: Learn, Act, Serve and Train. The organization seeks to engage men of all ages, in their character, and teach them various trade skills while mobilizing them to participate in local service projects for those in need.
